01

Your first objective is stability

Do not sprint toward every quest marker on the first day. Secure drinkable water, a small food supply, a workbench, and a safe sleeping point before chasing optional discoveries.

Grounded 2 rewards short loops: gather nearby materials, craft one useful upgrade, test it against a small creature, then return home before dark. This route keeps your inventory readable and gives you a reliable reset point.

02

Build the minimum useful kit

Start with a cutting tool, a smashing tool, a basic weapon, a torch, and a few bandages. Upgrade the tool that blocks your next recipe instead of spreading materials across every possible item.

Mark water, food, a research station, and your first base on the map. These four pins answer most early questions faster than a long list of recipes.

03

What to research first

Use research opportunities as soon as your route returns you to a station. Prioritise recipes that improve storage, healing, water, and basic tool durability before cosmetic building pieces.

If you are playing co-op, agree on one shared storage box for raw materials and one for finished equipment. It prevents the most common early multiplayer problem: nobody knows where the useful item went.
